Roof Transformations

From Knox New Look

Roofs are a vital part of a home or business - when they are in good shape, we think little of them, however, when they age and begin to leak or when a storm comes through your area and damages the roof, the interior will undoubtedly start leaking. Not only will this result in water stains on your ceilings, but could result in mold and mildew development that could put the health of those living or working there at risk. If your home of office needs a roof, contact Knox New Look to discuss the options.

The cost associated with a new roof varies from one structure to another. There are severl factors that have to be considered, including:

  • What is the size of your roof? That will impact not only the amount of new materials required to complete the job, but also the number of hours of labor required to renew the roof.

  • What is the pitch of the roof? In other words, how steep is the angle of the roof. Although in the northern part of the country the pitch is often considerable so as to allow snow to slide off, rather than to build up over time, in East Tennessee it varies from one building to the next.
  • What type of roof does your home or office have? The two most common types are Gable roofs (which appear like an an "A" on the ends, as shown in the image on the right), and the Hip roof (in which the ends are met with an angled roof of around the same pitc h). Of course, the Hip roof requires more work than the Gable, as well as more materials, so they are a bit more costly to replace than a Gable roof. Keep in mind, there are actually more than 20 classifications of roofs, so these are just two of the more common examples.
  • What materials do you desire us to use on the new roof. Perhaps your roof was originally asphalt shingles (like the one in the image above), but they have an expected life span of 25 to 30 years or more on the average. Other types of roof can last considerably longer, such as metal roofs.
  • Has your existing roof ever had a second layer of asphault shingles installed atop the original? If so, then both layers must be removed to install the new roof.

Perhaps you would like to upgrade the appearance of your home by having us install ceramic or wood shingles, as shown in this image. We can do that.

Let us know what your needs and desires are. If your home sustained damage from a storm and your insurance is covering the cost of replacing your asphault shingle roof, perhaps you would like to add to it and upgrade to a more durable and aesthetically pleasing roof. Keep in mind, doing so could help insulate the home and result in lower utility bills in the future.

Perhaps you would like to augment the natural light in your home or office by having us install sky lights. Give us a call and we'll present you with options to consider.

What can we do for your roof? Don't delay . . . Call today and schedule an appointment for us to measure your home or business for the new roof you desire.
